Separated from Napa Valley only by an invisible line, Suisun Valley (“su-soon”) is a “hidden gem” with a similar maritime climate. Its richer soils are conducive to producing Petite Sirah, synonymous with Durif. Chuck Wagner added “Grand” to this wine’s name for its grand style and luxurious smoothness, making it a great match for hearty, flavorful dishes. We invite you to try it!
With the same climatic conditions as Napa Valley but richer soils, Suisun Valley (just 40 minutes from Rutherford) is an ideal location to grow Petit Sirah. We dry farm our Suisun vineyards, letting the vines thrive on the previous winter's rainfall throughout the growing season. The resulting lighter yields and smaller berries allow us to produce a fruit-forward wine that is round, rich, concentrated, but not tannic, dry or bitter.
