Emmolo Winery belongs to the Wagner family. The two heads behind this project are Cheryl Emmolo and her daughter Jeny Wagner. Caymus Vineyards was founded in 1971 in Rutherford (California, USA), by Charlie Wagner and Lorna Belle Glos Wagner, after a long history of vineyard cultivation, dating back to 1906.

In 1972 Charlie Wagner, his wife Lorna and their son Chuck produced their first vintage, using grapes from their 55 hectares of vineyard, at a winery named after the Mexican land concession known as Rancho

Caymus, granted to George Yount in 1836, encompassed what later became the town of Rutherford and surrounding areas. Today the vineyards are still being operated by the family in the fifth generation, led by Chuck, Joe and Charlie Wagner, with nearly 350 hectares, in 14 different locations in the Napa Valley area, planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grape varieties, with an average age of 40 years.
They make their wines in Napa Valley (California, USA) under the brands Conundrum, Mer Soleil, Belle Glos and of course Caymus.

Frank & Annie Emmolo are renowned for the excellent grapes they grow in the Valley. Their daughter and granddaughter have been fortunate enough to turn these amazing grapes into great wine! Cheryl Emmolo, owner and founder of Emmolo Wine Company, was born into the wine business that has grown up around Napa Valley. Her grandfather, Salvatore Emmolo, established a rootstock greenhouse in St. Helena in 1923. Cheryl's father, Frank Emmolo, inherited the management of the greenhouse. He continues to grow grapes on his 43-acre River Ranch in the prestigious Rutherford District.

As a child, Cheryl helped her father drive the tractor and assist with other viticultural tasks in the vineyard.
In 1994, Cheryl founded Emmolo Wine Company for two important reasons: to fulfill a lifelong ambition to produce her own wine and to extend her family legacy to her three children, Charlie Wagner, Joseph Wagner & Jenny Wagner. It is no surprise that Cheryl was able to secure from her father the crème de la crème of his Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot grapes for her small production.
